Gender Program

  1. Path2Progress: Empowering Transgender Communities in Delhi
This project focuses on skill development and micro-entrepreneurship for transgender individuals. Participants are trained in trades such as tailoring, handicrafts, and food processing, followed by an Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP). The initiative also facilitates market linkages and access to funding, enabling them to establish sustainable businesses and achieve financial independence.

  2. Gender Equality and Safety Campaigns
SDF organizes community engagement programs aimed at addressing gender-based violence and promoting gender equality. These campaigns include workshops, awareness drives, and capacity-building sessions targeting both men and women. The project has successfully created safer environments for women and children in rural and urban areas, while challenging societal norms that perpetuate inequality.

  3. Women Farmers' Empowerment through Modern Agriculture
SDF’s "Farm to Future" initiative empowers women farmers by providing them with training in modern agricultural techniques, including the use of drones and advanced farming implements. The project not only enhances their agricultural productivity but also equips them with leadership skills to manage farm operations, making them active decision-makers in their households and communities.

  4. Integrated Livelihoods for Women in Artisanal Crafts
Through skill development programs in traditional crafts like terracotta and applique, SDF has empowered women artisans in rural areas. The project integrates modern design techniques and market linkages, enabling women to create competitive products and significantly increase their income. This initiative also preserves cultural heritage while ensuring economic sustainability.

  5. Gender-Inclusive Health and Nutrition Programs
Targeting vulnerable women in slums and rural areas, SDF’s health projects focus on maternal and child nutrition, along with access to essential healthcare services. The program includes nutritional awareness sessions, health check-ups, and distribution of hygiene kits. Additionally, the project incorporates gender sensitization workshops to promote shared responsibilities between men and women in family health and nutrition.
